Job Description
The Commander (CMD) function is crucial within the flight crew. As Commander, you hold the final authority for the safe operation of the flight, including the assigned Helvetic Airways aircraft, crew, and passengers. You are the ultimate decision-maker for all operational matters on board, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Exercise final authority over the safe conduct of the flight
• Lead and coordinate the entire flight crew
• Ensure compliance with all legal and operational regulations
• Make decisions in normal and exceptional circumstances
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (ATC, Operations, etc.).
Requirements
• Valid ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) with a valid Instrument Rating (IR)
• Minimum 1’000 hours as PIC in MP(A) operations
• Valid Passport without restrictions to EU-EFTA Countries
• Several years of experience as a pilot in commercial aviation operations
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• High resilience and sense of responsibility
• Fluent in English (ICAO Level 4 or higher); German is an advantage
